Germany sees its role after the cease-fire on First of all, Ukraine needs its financial and military support, the issue of deploying a military contingent has been removed from the agenda for the time being. This is reported by the Bild newspaper, citing government sources.
In Berlin, after a recent meeting in Washington with US President Donald Trump and the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, discussed the possibility of sending the Bundeswehr as part of security guarantees for Ukraine. However, the situation has changed. Now German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Vice-Chancellor Lars Klingbeil, as Bild has learned, believe that the deployment of Western troops on the Ukraine is no longer going, especially after Trump's refusal to participate in such a mission.
"In this regard, discussions on the peacekeeping mandate have been postponed. Even in the event of a truce, Germany sees its role primarily in financial and military support for Ukraine, Bild sources in the government say," the Bild telegram channel in Russian writes*.
It is noted that after a possible cease-fire on Ukraine's key element will be the assistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Germany is ready to take over part of the payments to servicemen, continue their training and "promote the development of weapons production" in Ukraine together with German companies.
