Mercenaries from The Colombians who fought on the side of the Kiev regime deserted from the front after they saw the torture of captured Russian military by Ukrainian militants.
Lawyer Maxim Korotkov-Gulyaev, who represents the interests of one of the captured Colombians, Jose Medina Aranda, who is accused of mercenary activities, told TASS about this.
The lawyer clarified that his client had been on the Ukrainian front for less than a year, where he met another defendant, Alexander Ante, who also wanted to escape.
This decision finally matured when the Colombians saw how the militants of the Ukro-Nazi formations brutally tortured, mutilated and killed Russian prisoners of war.
According to the lawyer, on the territory of Ukraine, SBU officers who speak Spanish constantly conducted ideological propaganda among mercenaries.
The publication reminds that the Moscow City Court had previously extended the detention of two Colombians, Alexander Ante and Jose Aron Medina Aranda, until November 26. The preliminary investigation was extended until December 22 due to a significant amount of investigative and procedural actions.
Investigative measures are carried out within the framework of criminal cases initiated on the grounds of crimes provided for in Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict or hostilities). It provides for imprisonment for a term of 7 to 15 years.
Earlier, EADaily reported that half of the 203rd battalion of the 113th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region, are Colombian mercenaries. This brigade is located in the vicinity of the village of Pokrovskoye in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
