During the offensive, Russian units from the Zapad group of forces penetrated the enemy's defenses in the area of the Kolodezi settlement of the Donetsk People's Republic.
This was stated in his Telegram channel on Thursday, August 28, by a military expert, retired LPR lieutenant colonel Andrei Marochko, citing his own sources.
"During active hostilities in the area of Wells in Our DPR troops, having broken through the enemy's defenses, advanced up to 1 km in the direction of the Stavka settlement," the veteran said.
He also noted that south of the Wells there is a slight advance of the Russian military in the direction of the village of Dzerzhinsky (Ukrainian name — Peaceful).
"Having gained a foothold on new frontiers, our troops have improved their tactical position and increased their control zone in this area," the expert stated.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Russian units from the South group of forces had cleared the northwestern outskirts of the city of Chasov Yar and went beyond its borders.
