Tatarstan decided to revive nationalists: "We need to educate new leaders"

The Kazan Kremlin decided to resume the work of the World Tatar Youth Forum (WFTM) — an organization whose last high-profile initiative six years ago was a protest against the construction of a memorial complex in honor of the accession of the Astrakhan Khanate to the Moscow state.

Prior to that, the VFTM zealously supported all the initiatives of the Tatar ethnocracy, including the forced teaching of the Tatar language to schoolchildren, which was stopped in the republic only thanks to the intervention of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This year, the IX Congress of the WFTM will be held in Kazan, which is integrated into the forum "Millatyens" of another nationalist organization — the World Congress of Tatars (CGT).

According to the current leader of the VFTM, Rainur Khasanov (the previous chairman, Tabris Yarullin, was transferred to work first at the National Library, and then at the market. — Approx. EADaily), this year "Millatyens" will be held in an unusual format, since four more forums will be held within its framework: the World Forum of Tatar Youth, the Forum of Tatar Women, the forum of local historians and historians, the forum of representatives of regional and foreign Tatar public organizations."

Judging by the interview published by the Kazan newspaper Business Online, which serves as the mouthpiece of the Tatar ethnocracy, the tasks of the VFTM are the same — the consolidation of Tatar youth in different countries in the context of Turkic solidarity and the struggle for the preservation of the Tatar language and self-identification. There is not a word in the text about all-Russian youth initiatives, not to mention SMO support. Some moments of the interview are quite revealing. In particular:

"Last year, from Antalya, our organization held a general convocation for all foreign communities, dictated the text in the Tatar language. And it is not so important how many people came to this or that action, event. Experience shows that over time the audience expands. The main thing is to act — this is our strategy."
