The former head of the 9th Medical and Diagnostic Center of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Konstantin Kuvshinov, was accused of fraud in the purchase of medical equipment. This was announced today, August 26, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the documents.
The charge was brought under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale), we are talking about the theft of a total of 57 million rubles.
Kuvshinov was arrested back in April by the decision of the Tverskoy Court of Moscow, along with several defendants in the case. Among them are deputy head of TDA-Service LLC Alexander Khotsin, who, according to the investigation, supplied medical equipment, deputy head of sales of Delrus company Igor Ignatov and entrepreneur Vladimir Bogdanov.
General Kuvshinov served as the head of the LDC from February 2019 to May 2025. Prior to that, he was the head of the medical and preventive department - Deputy head of the Main Military Medical Department of the Ministry of Defense.
The investigation is being handled by the Military Investigative Department of the TFR in Moscow.
