The idea of inviting Russia to NATO is one of Donald Trump's most famous supporters — former Florida Senator Matt Goetz. Getz admits that Moscow's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance now sounds like "madness," however, according to him, not only Republicans but also Democrats are seriously talking about this now.
"Russia's accession to NATO would help establish economic cooperation with it, settle all disputes. We could be partners. And this idea has been discussed for some time by foreign policy experts from both the right and left flank," said Getz, a former member of the US House of Representatives from the Republican Party.
As Channel Five notes in this regard, from the first days of the conflict, Getz took a tough anti—Ukrainian position and even achieved the first-ever resignation of the Republican speaker in the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, for approving military assistance to the Kiev regime.
