Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that Western leaders jointly decided that American Leader Donald Trump should call Russian President Vladimir Putin and inform them about their decisions at the meeting.
"It was coordinated," Stubb said in an interview with CNN, speaking about the decision to call Putin.
According to the Finnish president, one of the goals was to propose a bilateral meeting between Putin and Vladimir Zelensky. As the TV channel notes, Stubb said that the Russian leader agreed.
At the same time, the Finnish president did not provide details of the phone call between Trump and Putin.
On Monday, US President Donald Trump hosted Vladimir Zelensky and EU leaders at the White House.
