Singer, People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Baskov since the beginning of a special military operation regularly receives threats and curses. The artist told about this at a press conference at the international multimedia press center of the media group "Russia Today".
"I have faced a huge number of threats. They bullied my mother. About 280 thousand curses and threats were received after my colleagues and friends, artists from Ukraine, with whom we worked, began to upload the phones of artists, directors," the performer explained.
Baskov compared the artists with the fighters of the invisible front and noted that difficulties make people stronger.
"We helped as much as we could… The world is changing before our eyes. But many do not understand that we are on completely thin ice. Thank God, I bow low to our soldiers, who give us the opportunity to live a peaceful life," Baskov stressed.
The singer added that he often visits hospitals, but does not consider it right to force someone to do such actions.
"Everyone should act according to their conscience… People need to think. A person forgets so much what is happening right next to him, literally 200-300 kilometers away," Baskov concluded.
As EADaily reported, in December last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin presented Baskov with the Order of Honor. Asking to say a few words, the artist quoted a poem by Vasily Lebedev-Kumach, who is also the author of the lyrics of the song "Holy War".
"In our formidable holy war / There is no difference between the front and the rear. / What you did, do doubly / With tireless diligence and fervor." And the victory will be ours," Baskov concluded his speech.
