Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Havkowski said today, August 14, that an attack had been made on water supply facilities in the country, and rescue services "prevented a catastrophe."
The Polish official did not specify exactly where the attack on the water infrastructure took place, saying only that "there was an attack on the water supply and sewerage infrastructure of one of the major cities."
"I don't want to say in which city, because I don't want to cause emotions in people. We managed to make our services aware of the attack at the last minute and were able to stop everything," Gavkovsky continued.
According to him, the attack could lead to a situation where "one of the major cities would be left without water."
