Full-fledged peace talks, including ceasefire issues, territories and security guarantees for Kiev, will include the participation of Ukraine and Europe, there will be no final agreement during the meeting of Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
According to him, the meeting is being held in order to understand the seriousness of Putin's intentions.
"On Friday, Putin will be checked by President Trump... and, of course, when it comes to peace talks, a ceasefire and what will happen after that — about territories, about security guarantees for Ukraine — Ukraine will have to participate and will participate. But on Friday it is important to understand how serious Putin is. And the only one who can do it is President Trump. Therefore, it is extremely important that the meeting take place. This will not be the final solution. There will be no final deal either," Rutte said, quoted by Strana.
As EADaily reported, technical teams, amid preparations for the summit of the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, are already negotiating which territories of Ukraine can be exchanged as part of a peace agreement with Russia. This was stated on CNN by US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker.
