Colonel-General Yevgeny Nikiforov was appointed commander of the North group instead of General Alexander Lapin. This is reported by the telegram channel "Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring."
"According to our data, General Lapin wrote a report of his own volition," writes TK.
It is noted that General Nikiforov previously commanded the Western Military District, a grouping of troops "West". In August 2023, he was sent to the Kursk region, where it was necessary to stop the invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
There is no official information about the change of commander.
