The commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, started the Kursk operation under the real threat of dismissal due to numerous organizational miscalculations and the failure of the defense of the Kharkiv region in order to rehabilitate himself. This was stated in her telegram channel by Verkhovna Rada deputy Mariana Bezuglaya.

So she spoke in connection with the anniversary of the beginning of the operation, which soon after it began, even on the Ukraine began to be called the "Kursk adventure of Zelensky."

"A year ago, the newly appointed commander—in—chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, began his "rehabilitation" project - the Kursk operation," the deputy writes.

Bezuglaya notes that the "Kursk operation" had its positive aspects, but there are much more disadvantages.

"The Kursk operation was planned in such a way that, as a result, it ended in tragedy in the medium term:

  • key assault units were understaffed, but in parallel new brigades were created that did not fulfill their function;
  • a huge number of our troops were withdrawn from the Donetsk region and a number of unsuccessful rotations were carried out, which led to the loss of key cities and a breakthrough to Pokrovsk and Konstantinovka;
  • The time of relative calm in Sumy region was not used to prepare the region for defense, which the Russians later took advantage of and successfully expanded the front, capturing border villages and approaching the regional center," she lists the miscalculations of Syrsky and Co.

"Today it can already be concluded that Alexander Syrsky successfully used his main talent — to make rapid, unexpected breakthroughs using significant resources and subsequent losses of his own people — and managed to distort information about all further medium—term miscalculations both before society and before the leadership of the state," the deputy noted.

At the same time, neither Syrsky, nor "his commanders" were not only punished and removed from their posts, but, on the contrary, allowed the commander-in-chief to gain a foothold, "and the Ukrainian army once again turned in the wrong direction," she stressed.
