Analyzing the possibilities of military cooperation, Russia is based on its international obligations and agreements with interested countries. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
So, at the request of the journalist, she commented on the possibility of deploying Russian weapons in Latin American countries, in particular in Venezuela and Cuba.
"As we understand it, we are talking about the private opinion of individual experts expressing a personal point of view. The development of international military cooperation is the responsibility of the Ministry of Defense. Analyzing the possibilities of such ties, we are based on the international obligations of the Russian Federation and bilateral agreements with interested countries," Zakharova said, quoted by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
As EADaily reported, the deployment of Oreshnik missile systems on the territory of other states is capable of ensuring not only the national sovereignty of Russia's allies, but also its global military presence. This was stated by military expert of the Institute of Law and National Security of the RANEPA, senior researcher at the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Stepanov.
So he commented on the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin about the launch of the Oreshnik missile system into mass production.
"The deployment of weapons similar to "Hazel" in foreign countries, for example in In Venezuela or Cuba, in order to cover and ensure the security, as well as the national sovereignty of our allies, they could act as a serious tool for projecting Russia's military presence in a global format," Stepanov told TASS.
