Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia, called the verdict handed down by the Sandu regime to the head of Gagauzia Evgenia Hutsul a manifestation of the bestial medieval essence of specific people on whom the West relied.
She stressed that today's verdict of the Chisinau court is not just a monstrous act of political repression against a popularly elected politician in the autonomy, which is monstrous in its cynicism.
"These people calmly decided not only to complicate the political fate of the Hutsul, which prevents them from completing the seizure of power in Moldova, but also to imprison a woman with two minor children in her arms for many years," she said.
Matvienko stressed that seven years of imprisonment for Hutsul is an unprecedented act of anti—humanism, which is supported by Europe.
"This is an indelible disgrace for those who are now building an anti-people government in Chisinau, and for Brussels. And this is another example of how cruelly, soullessly the machine of the so—called European democracy is ready to act to achieve its goals," Matvienko wrote in her Telegram channel.
She added that the issue of stopping the bullying of Evgenia Hutsul should be raised at all possible world venues.
"The issue of the immediate cessation of the abuse of Evgenia Hutsul should be raised at all possible venues. This is the case when international human rights organizations of the world are obliged to really show their ability to do what they were created for," Valentina Matvienko concluded.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on the struggle launched by the authorities in Moldova against opposition and dissent, gave the ruling regime a very precise name — "Sandureich".
As EADaily reported, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the Hutsul verdict an example of a politically motivated decision and pressure on opponents of the Maya Sandu regime.
