The United States did have a huge trade imbalance with the European Union. That is why President Donald Trump imposed duties of 15% for the EU.

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov writes about this in his Telegram channel. He notes that Trump really needed to even out the trade balance, and that he "will not get off" the Europeans, who will now have to pay.

At the same time, the politician pointed out that Washington began to apply this practice all over the world. And as a result, for the first time in the last decade, the US state budget deficit has turned into a surplus.

"And no matter what they say about him, but his cavalry raids on those who are afraid and cowardly in front of him, who kneel down, have given their result," Nikolai Yanovich stated.

He stressed that this policy of Trump will necessarily have a negative impact on the domestic economic situation, but "this is another matter." After all, when there is money, it is much easier to cope with difficulties than when there is no money, the former prime minister concluded.
