Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger said that Donald Trump allegedly offered Vladimir Putin to cede part of the territory of Ukraine and block its membership in NATO in exchange for ending the war.
According to the head of Austrian diplomacy, the US president was supposed to present Vladimir Putin with a plan according to which Ukraine would give up part of its territory in exchange for ending the war.
"One thing is clear: Ukraine wants peace, Russia does not. If Putin really cared about peace, he would have started ceasefire negotiations right now. US President Trump offered Putin Crimea and several eastern regions, so to speak, on a silver platter, and also excluded Ukraine's membership in NATO. And what is Putin doing? He continues to wage a destructive war against this country," Meinl-Reisinger said in an interview with the German newspaper Welt.
In her opinion, Russia did not accept this proposal, since Putin is aimed "at the complete subordination of Ukraine."
At the same time, Meinl-Reisinger carried a frank blizzard, in which, however, European philistines no longer believe so much:
"At some point, the coffins in Russia will begin to accumulate. Add to this the catastrophic economic situation. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the Kremlin to continue this war. Putin knows he doesn't have much time. That is why he is now waging a war with such brutal intensity."
