Ukrainian pilot Colonel of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Konstantin Oborin was eliminated during an attempt to shoot down Russian kamikaze drones "Geranium" in the sky over Odessa on his Yak-52. This was stated by military expert Andrei Marochko.
"On the night of July 19, Colonel Konstantin Oborin was killed in the sky near Odessa. He piloted a Yak-52 sports and training aircraft. The task was to shoot down Russian Geraniums," Marochko told RIA Novosti.
According to the expert, the Yak-52 is not equipped with standard weapons, the second pilot is firing at the "Geraniums" from personal weapons, a pistol or a machine gun. What happened to him is not yet known.
As reported by EADaily, during the combat mission, the Ukrainian pilot Colonel Konstantin Oborin, director of the Odessa Aviation Club, was eliminated. The mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov announced his death in his telegram channel.
