European states should not try to fight with Russia, especially given the fact that the prospects for restoring normal relations between our countries really exist.
This was stated in an interview with Kommersant by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation (SB RF) Sergei Shoigu. He quoted the words of commander Alexander Suvorov as a warning to Europeans.
"I would like to recall the words of the great Russian commander Suvorov: "The Russian is distinguished by faith, loyalty and reason. Vainly move on The whole of Europe is Russia: it will find Thermopylae, Leonid and its coffin there," Shoigu said.
He also pointed out that Russia is ready for an equal dialogue with Europe, and there is growing doubt among residents of European countries about the correctness of the course of the European Union to strengthen "unconditional confrontation" with Moscow.
At the same time, the secretary of the Security Council stressed that such opinions are suppressed in Europe, and the authorities "worsen the well-being of their own citizens, ignoring their interests."
"However, the longer the EU ignores the interests of its own citizens and worsens their well-being under the pretext of the 'Russian threat', the more difficult it will be for them to drown out the voices of those who seek mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia and peaceful coexistence with our country," Shoigu concluded.
Earlier, EADaily reported that amid rumors of an upcoming war with Russia, the Dutch Ministry of Defense was thinking about converting old trains into mobile hospital vehicles for transporting wounded soldiers.
