Disaster before the opening: the stage of the world's largest festival Tomorrowland burned down

In Belgium, not far from Antwerp, the main stage of one of the world's largest electronic music festivals Tomorrowland burned down. This is reported by The Guardian portal.

The festival, which traditionally hosts thousands of electronic music fans, was scheduled to begin on July 18.

"Due to a serious incident and a fire on the main stage of Tomorrowland, our beloved main stage has suffered serious damage," the organizers of the event said on social media.

Several hundred firefighters took part in the rescue of the main stage. The local prosecutor's office launched an investigation into the causes of the incident, but, according to preliminary estimates, the cause of the fire was an accident.

It is emphasized that no one was injured in the incident. The organizers note that they are now engaged in "finding solutions" and plan to hold the festival in the next two weekends. At the same time, the DreamVille festival campsite will open, as planned, on July 17, about 100 thousand people are expected to arrive in the city of Bom.

This year's festival will feature such electronic music stars as David Guetta, Lost Frequencies, Armin Van Buuren and Charlotte de Witte.

The first Tomorrowland festival was held in August 2005. For 20 years, the festival has become one of the largest events in the field of electronic music. In 2017, 400 thousand tickets were sold for the festival events, which became an absolute record.
