The comedian from "Asterix and Obelix" died in a tragic accident in Paris

French comedian and film actor Ban Hay Min was found dead on the morning of July 10 in the 17th arrondissement of Paris after falling from the eighth floor. This is reported by the portal Le Parisien.

He was 43 years old.

"It is with infinite sadness that we have to announce the tragic passing of our friend, our wonderful artist Ban Hay Min," his producer Philip Delmas said in a statement.

According to him, the actor died while trying to get a mobile phone that fell into a drainpipe on the balcony.

"Ban slipped and fell from a height of several floors," he concluded.

The interlocutor of the publication in the police said that the actor's mobile phone was found in the drainpipe, and there was an ashtray on the windowsill of the apartment. No farewell letters or notes were found.

The Paris prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the causes of the incident, an accident is being considered as a priority version.

Ban Hay Min gained fame after playing the villain in the movie "Asterix and Obelix 2: Celestial Empire" (2023) by Guillaume Canet, where Vincent Cassel, Manu Payet and other actors became his partners. According to the French media, the success of the movie had a negative impact on the comedian's career, he fell into depression and was completely exhausted while preparing his third solo stand-up show. Before the tour, he was hospitalized.

Now he has returned to the stand-up scene with a new show Kill Bun, on July 11 he was scheduled to perform in Montreal (Canada).
