Russia warned Armenian authorities about the risk of sanctions — mass media

To the Ambassador of Armenia in Gurgen Arsenyan of Russia, who was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on July 7, was instructed to inform the Armenian authorities that economic sanctions could be applied against Yerevan, Armenian media reported citing diplomatic sources.

According to media reports, Russia may resort to such measures if Armenia fulfills the West's demand to block Russian state television channels in the country's public multiplex.

As EADaily reported, the Russian Foreign Ministry last week conveyed to the Armenian Ambassador the position on the need to maintain a constructive news background about Russia in the country, the Foreign Ministry said.
