US President Donald Trump is "very resolutely" considering the possibility of giving the go-ahead to the adoption by Congress of a bill concerning new anti-Russian sanctions. He stated this at a briefing at the White House.

"It's entirely my choice. They will accept it completely by my choice," Trump stressed, quoted by RIA Novosti.

The American president also said that he was preparing a "small surprise" for Russian President Vladimir Putin, because he was dissatisfied with him.

So Trump answered the journalist's question whether he plans to somehow express this discontent.

"I won't tell you that. Don't we want to make a little surprise?" said Trump.

He once again admitted that the issue of resolving the Ukrainian conflict turned out to be more complicated than he expected.

As reported by EADaily, the bill on anti-Russian sanctions will be presented in the US Congress tomorrow, July 9. This was stated on the social network X by former Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Newt Gingrich. He called the brainchild of Russophobe Lindsey Graham and Co. a "prudent step."

Recall, Senator Lindsey Graham * previously told ABC News that Trump is ripe for the adoption of new sanctions against Russia. So he commented on the position of the US president on the bill on restrictions.

"Yesterday, for the first time, the president told me when we were playing golf with him that it was time to move forward," said Graham **, quoted by RIA Novosti.

Among other things, we are talking about the introduction of 500% duties on Russia's trading partners who do not help Ukraine. The bill is primarily directed against India and China, which buy Russian oil.

The senator believes that Trump will sign the document if it is adopted by Congress.
