The BRICS association is trying to undermine the status of the US dollar as the world standard, but the US will not allow it. This was stated at a briefing at the White House by the President of the United States Donald Trump.
"BRICS, in my opinion, does not pose a serious threat, but their goal is to destroy the dollar so that some other country can take its place and become a new standard. However, we are not going to lose this status under any circumstances," Trump said, quoted by RIA Novosti.
According to Trump, the United States will not be the same if the dollar ceases to play the role of the world currency. He compared the collapse of the dollar in this capacity with the loss of the world War.
