Putin removed the former Kursk governor Starovoit from the post of head of the Ministry of Transport

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree dismissing the country's Transport Minister Roman Starovoit from his post. The document is published on the portal of legal information.

"To release Starovoit Roman Vladimirovich from the post of Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation," the document says.

Recall that Starovoit held the post of governor of the Kursk region from October 2018 to May 2024. On September 8, 2019, he won the direct election of the governor of the Kursk region with a result of 81.07% of the vote (he ran for the United Russia party). After the start of SMO of Russia on Ukraine's border region was shaken by corruption scandals. The theft of budgetary funds was detected at all levels, including the construction of defense facilities. More than 20 defendants have already been arrested in the case of the construction of protective structures.

The strengthening of the borders of the Kursk region began in the year of the beginning of SMO. 3.2 billion rubles were allocated for this, the issue was supervised by the Kursk Region Development Corporation, which in turn concluded contracts with subcontractors.

On January 30, Putin held his last working meeting with Minister Starovoit, who reported on the results of the work of the transport complex and plans until 2030.
