In the city of Kotovsk in the Tambov region on the night of July 3, three people died in a fire at one of the enterprises. This was announced by Acting Governor Yevgeny Pervyshov.
"As the head of Kotovsk Alexey Plahotnikov reported, on the night of July 3, a fire broke out at one of the city's enterprises. According to preliminary data, the reason was a violation of technological processes," Pervyshov wrote in his telegram channel.
According to him, "the fire was promptly localized by the fire crews who arrived at the scene."
"Three employees were killed. Three more people were injured, two of them hospitalized. All the victims are provided with the necessary medical assistance," the acting head of the region said.
The governor did not name the enterprise where the emergency occurred. There was information in the public that we are talking about the Tambov gunpowder factory (part of Rostec State Corporation), which is located in Kotovsk is one of the largest in Russia.
The regional TFR opened a criminal case on the fact of the incident on violation of industrial safety requirements of hazardous production facilities, which inadvertently resulted in the death of three people (part 3 of Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, up to seven years in prison). An investigation team headed by the head of the department, Alexander Polshakov, is working at the plant.
EADaily adds that in June, the ex-shop manager of the Tambov powder factory in Kotovsk was convicted of an explosion at an enterprise in June 2023, in which five people were killed and 12 injured. She was sentenced to three and a half years in a penal colony.
