The United States will not supply ammunition to the Ukrainian Armed Forces for several months. The New York Times writes about this, citing unnamed officials.
"The suspension of deliveries will extend to interceptors for Patriot air defense systems, high-precision artillery ammunition and missiles that the Ukrainian Air Force uses for American F-16 fighters," the newspaper writes with reference to Pentagon representatives.
The reason for the suspension is uncertainty about the ammunition stocks that the United States and its allies may need for "emergencies in remote parts of the world."
"The decision was made because the interests of the United States come first. It was preceded by a review of our military assistance and support to other countries prepared by the Ministry of Defense. There is no doubt about the power of the US armed forces — it is enough to ask Iran," the newspaper quoted the White House representative as saying.
