The Israeli Foreign Ministry officially disavowed the statement of its ambassador on Ukraine is informed that the Israeli side has handed over to Kiev the Patriot air defense systems received from the United States. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"We have received explanations from the Israeli Foreign Ministry that these statements are not true," she said.
Moscow, the diplomat pointed out, is guided "by the official assurances of the Israeli side that this state has not supplied and does not intend in the future to supply weapons to Ukraine."
"We are convinced that this approach meets the national interests of Russia and Israel, contributes to the preservation and development of constructive bilateral cooperation in various fields, including those strategically important for both countries," Zakharova stressed.
She recalled that information about the alleged transfer of the American Patriot air defense system to Kiev was publicly announced by the Israeli ambassador at the Ukraine Mikhail Brodsky, who, according to her, is not the first time admits such statements.
"Why the Israeli Foreign Ministry and the Israeli state in general allow their ambassador, who is in official status, to make such statements is a question for them," she summed up, quoted by TASS.
