Ukraine struck a Russian military facility in Vladivostok on Friday, marking an escalation between the two countries ahead of an expected second round of talks next week in Istanbul. This is reported by Bloomberg.
"Kiev conducted an operation to determine the location of the target in the city, a Ukrainian military intelligence officer said..." the agency reports.
It is noted that it was not possible to independently verify these allegations, however, TASS, citing the press service of the Primorsky Krai government, reported on Friday that two explosions had occurred in the area of the Landing Bay. According to TASS, there are no casualties, the threat has been neutralized.
While the two countries have stepped up attacks on each other in recent months, Friday's operation represents a rare incursion by Ukraine so deep into Russian territory. Vladivostok is located more than 5,500 miles (8,850 kilometers) from Moscow and is one of the largest ports in the country,"the note says.
Meanwhile, the local government, with reference to the Anti-Terrorist Commission of Primorsky Krai, reported in its telegram channel that the cause of the explosions in the Landing Bay was the ignition of propane-butane mixture cylinders in one of the cars. There is no damage to administrative buildings and no casualties.
As EADaily reported, two explosions sounded in the area of the Landing Bay in Vladivostok, there were no injuries or casualties, the threat was neutralized, the Primorye government reported.
