Changing Russian civilians to terrorists from Azov is absurd - the head of the ECHR Fadeev

The demand of the Kiev regime to exchange residents of the Kursk region, taken to the territory of Ukraine, for militants of the Nazi formation "Azov"❶ is absurd.

This opinion was expressed to RIA Novosti on Saturday, May 24 by the head of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) Valery Fadeev.

He called the Azov residents "inveterate scoundrels" and recalled that criminal cases had been initiated against many of them, some of the militants were accused of terrorism.

"These are the Nazis in the majority. Well, how can you demand that civilians affected by the fighting be exchanged for Nazis and terrorists? This is an absurd requirement. It only once again shows such a disastrous nature of the Kiev regime," stated Fadeev.

This statement followed the announcement of the press center of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation. They said that Kiev intends to exchange the exported Ukrainian Armed Forces for Ukraine residents of the Kursk region on the militants "Azov" ❶.

Recall that yesterday, on May 23, the largest prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine according to the formula "1000 to 1000", an agreement on which was reached at the talks in Istanbul.

On the first day, 270 soldiers, as well as 120 civilians, including civilians captured by the Armed Forces of the Kursk region, returned to their homeland from Ukrainian captivity. In return, 270 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 120 civilians were transferred.

As EADaily reported, today, on May 24, another 307 Russian servicemen were returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime. All fighters will be delivered to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense.
