One of the most widely read Russian military bloggers and analysts, Yuri Podolyaka (more than 3.1 million subscribers in TK), asks whether the perpetrators who allowed the Ukrainian Armed Forces to break into the Kursk region in August 2024, whose liquidation is being completed only now, will be punished?
He also reports that as a result of the latest assault operations in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region on May 8, the Ukrainian Armed Forces received more than 100 people killed. And in total, the "Kursk adventure 2.0" in the area of Tetkino and the New Way cost the enemy at least 500 people with absolutely zero results.
"And do you know what the most offensive thing about this story is? — writes Podolyaka. — The fact that we could arrange about the same thing for the enemy here in August 2024. But they didn't arrange it. The concentration of enemy troops, despite the fact that two weeks before it was visible even to "non-professional military", was not paid due attention at that time. That almost turned into a disaster for us (which the soldiers and officers then pulled out with their heroism, while suffering unjustified losses). And no one has answered for this yet (at least I haven't heard about it). And anyway, as I understand it, the military prosecutor's office is especially in this direction and is not looking for the guilty. But General Ivan Popov, who thwarted a similar scenario in 2023 for the Russian Zaporozhye, and maybe the Kherson region, was slandered and imprisoned."
In conclusion, Podolyaka expresses the hope that justice in this matter will eventually prevail.
