Russia will consider a proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, but there is no need to put pressure on it. This was stated in an interview with CNN by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
He noted that Russia feels this pressure.
"We need to think about it. This is a new development. We have our own position. Russia is resistant to any pressure. We are open to dialogue, we are open to attempts to resolve [the conflict] on Ukraine. But trying to put pressure on us is pretty useless," Peskov said, quoted by RBC.
"Europe is actually confronting us very openly," he added.
According to Peskov, Vladimir Putin generally supports the idea of a cease-fire, but "there are many questions" that still need to be answered.
As reported by EADaily, from Monday, May 12, a full and unconditional cease-fire should begin for at least 30 days, any conditions will be considered as an attempt to disrupt the negotiations. This was stated today at the meeting of the "coalition of the willing" in Kiev by the leader of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, UNIAN reported.
