Scaring Russia with sanctions is an empty matter: The Kremlin responded to the threats of Kiev's partners

There is no point in scaring Russia with the next sanctions, because it is used to them and knows what needs to be done. This was stated in an interview with VGTRK correspondent Pavel Zarubin by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

This is how he answered the question of whether British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz specifically chose May 9 to threaten Russia with new sanctions if it does not agree to a 30-day truce.

According to Peskov, Europeans are "unnerved by the large international consolidation around Victory Day."

"On the other hand, we are already used to sanctions. We can even imagine what we will do after the announcement of these sanctions, how we will minimize their consequences, and so on and so forth.… Therefore, scaring us with these sanctions is an empty matter," Peskov said.

The fact that Europeans do not find a place for themselves is their problem rather, Peskov added.

As reported by EADaily, senior European officials are negotiating with the administration of Donald Trump to conclude an agreement on a 30-day cease-fire on Ukraine, which involves the introduction of new sanctions against Russia if President Vladimir Putin does not agree to it. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing informed sources.

Europe is negotiating with the United States about an ultimatum to Putin to end the war in Ukraine, the agency said.
