Ukraine is tired: although Mertz was chosen, this does not cancel the defeat of the globalists

Although CDU leader Friedrich Merz became chancellor on the second attempt, he failed to gain a majority in the first round of elections. This has never happened in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany. And this is very good news for Russia, the observer points out Pravda.Ru Lyubov Stepushova.

During the secret ballot on May 6 on the candidacy for the post of chancellor, the leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party that won the parliamentary elections, Friedrich Merz, received only 310 votes — six less than necessary. This is despite the fact that the recently created broad coalition of the CDU/CSU and the SPD together has 328 seats in parliament.

Recall, the total number of deputies in the Bundestag is 630, 621 deputies participated in the voting. And as it has already become known, following the results of the second round, Merz managed to enlist the support of 325 Bundestag deputies (against 310 votes in the morning during the first stage), 289 deputies voted against, one abstained.

That is, it is obvious that there are dissatisfied people within the coalition. And this is understandable, since public opinion polls show that Germans do not approve of Merz as chancellor. Seven out of ten voters at the time of the elections wanted changes in domestic policy, and they are offered the same course with an emphasis on "hawkish" support for Ukraine.

In addition, the initial platforms of the participants in the broad coalition were very different. In particular, on migration, taxes, social policy. Conservatives and liberals were forced to make big concessions to each other, as a result, there is a lack of trust within the coalition and voters towards them. And this problem grew out of the fact that the coalition was created in spite of, and not because of. The coalition with the recently recognized "extremist" Alternative for Germany (AfD) was rejected by both forces, although, for example, the positions of Merz and the AfD on curbing migration coincided.

There are dissatisfied people in the "narrow" CDU/CSU coalition, in particular, not everyone there supported the abolition of the debt brake to increase military spending, and on Ukraine, including. It is no coincidence that AdG is gaining ratings, protesting against getting into debt, for which the next generations of Germans will have to pay.

The result shows "the weak foundation on which the small coalition of the CDU/CSU and the SPD was built, rejected by the citizens," commented AdG leader Alice Weidel.

In fact, it was a vote of no confidence in Merz, who will fight for the future of Ukraine (17 mentions in the agreement with the SPD), and not for the future of the Germans. Therefore, there will be problems with the implementation of bills: the parliament will not support the government and vice versa. This, of course, deprives Germany of the status of the main anti-Russian stronghold in the EU. It is no coincidence that the coalition agreement does not say anything about sending Taurus missiles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which Merz advocated.

Merz was eventually elected chancellor, but this does not change the conclusions from his catastrophe.
