In the Polish city of Biala Podlaska, during the rally, the flag of Ukraine was removed from the city hall to the applause of the crowd and shouts of "This is Poland!" This is reported by the publication "Country".
The Ukrainian flag was removed by the assistant of presidential candidate and MEP Grzegorz Brown and handed over to Brown himself. The latter claimed responsibility for the incident.
"My assistant, appointed to perform the duties of a Polish member of the European Parliament, at my request and on my clear instructions, did what he did. Therefore, this is my responsibility," Brown stressed.
It was a "deliberate provocation directed against the friendship" of the two countries, said Kiev's ambassador to Poland Vasily Bodnar.
Local authorities condemned the incident, calling it an "attack on an administrative building." The local police are investigating.
