Western intelligence agencies will receive legal mechanisms for "more severe response standards" to Moscow's "hostile intervention", while legislation in Europe will become tougher to foreign agents than in Russia. This was pointed out by the head of the State Duma commission to investigate the facts of foreign interference in the internal affairs of Russia, Vasily Piskarev.
Commenting on the next anti-Russian resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) entitled "Foreign interference as a threat to democratic security in Europe," Piskarev noted that "Russia is called the main source of hostile interference in it."
"In order to counteract our country, it is proposed to coordinate the activities of European special services, using NATO's experience in this area, and STRENGTHEN legal mechanisms for bringing foreign agents to justice. European parliamentarians plan to rely on the developments of France, Canada, the American FARA law and the English FIRS in this matter, which provide for more stringent response standards than in Russia. At the same time, Russian legislation on foreign agents is once again designated as violating "democratic" standards!" — said the deputy, whose words are quoted in the Telegram channel of the Duma commission.
