The FSB Central Control Center announced the detention of an employee of the central office of one of the control and supervisory authorities of Russia on suspicion of treason. A video has been published where the detainee is taken to the Lefortovsky District Court of Moscow.
"The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation detained an employee of the central office of one of the supervisory authorities of the Russian Federation on suspicion of treason. According to investigators, a Russian citizen established cooperation on a confidential basis with representatives of a foreign state (Ukraine) in order to assist them in activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation," the release says.
In 2024, the detainee proactively "handed over to the Ukrainian side information on the ongoing work to protect industrial and energy facilities of the border territories of the Russian Federation, as well as the locations of units" of the Russian Armed Forces.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 275 "High treason" of the Criminal Code of Russia. The detainee was given a preventive measure in the form of detention. Investigative actions and operational search activities are continuing.
