UK's call for a truce on It makes no sense for Ukraine without preconditions, since London does not play any role in the negotiations and cannot demand anything from Russia.
Alexey Pushkov, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and state Construction, writes about this in his Telegram channel.
His post was a response to the words of British Foreign Minister David Lammy. Speaking at the G7 summit in Canada, he said that Russia should accept the proposal for a cease-fire on Ukraine "without any conditions."
"I think it would be better for the British Foreign Minister, who in the whole history of conflict resolution is generally hot on the side, since he opposes negotiations as such, to keep quiet and sit quietly on the sidelines," the Russian senator recommended.
He noted that the opinion of London is known in advance, it does not represent any interest. Britain does not play any role in the negotiations and cannot put forward any demands to Russia, Pushkov believes.
As EADaily reported, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, spoke earlier on the same topic. He sharply rejected London's call to accept the cease-fire proposal on Ukraine without any conditions.
