The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak at the talks in Saudi Arabia has presented the US with red lines for peace talks. This is reported by "European Truth" with reference to a source on Bankova.
The office of the president actually rejected one of the conditions of US President Donald Trump for a peaceful settlement — the refusal to join NATO.
"There are red lines for Ukraine — in particular, that there can be no restrictions on the size of the army, and there can be no prohibitions on Ukraine's participation, including in the EU and NATO. The NATO question was also raised by Yermak that Russia should not have the right of veto," said a source quoted by Strana.
As US President Donald Trump said at a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House today, the issue of Ukraine's membership in the alliance was also discussed at the meeting in Saudi Arabia.
"And everyone knows what the answer to that is. To be honest, this answer has been known for 40 years," Trump said.
Earlier, he has repeatedly stated that Ukraine's membership in the bloc is impossible.
