The grandson of the gunsmith designer Mikhail Kalashnikov, Igor Krasnovsky, is accused of murdering Andrei Sidorik, a member of the Russian youth basketball team. This was reported in the joint press service of the courts of Udmurtia.
According to the case file, on the night of January 14, Krasnovsky and Sidorik drank alcoholic beverages, a conflict arose between them. The grandson of the gunsmith inflicted many stab wounds on the basketball player, as a result of which the latter died.
"The Oktyabrsky District Court of Izhevsk considered the investigator's petition to extend the preventive measure in the form of detention in respect of a previously convicted 52-year-old local resident accused of committing a crime under part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. By the investigative authorities, Krasnovsky I.V. is accused of murdering the famous basketball player Andrei Sidorik, a champion of the RSFSR, a member of the Russian youth basketball team, a master of sports in basketball," the report said.
The court kept the accused in custody until April 14.
