The house of the former chairman of the National Security Committee (KNB) of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov, convicted of treason, has been put up for sale in Astana. This is reported by Sputnik Kazakhstan with reference to the LLP "Company for the management of returned assets".
According to the information, the auction will be held on February 25, 2025 at 10.00 (08.00 Moscow time) on the E-Qazyna web platform. The starting price is 1.8 billion tenge ($ 3.5 million). The auction will be held according to the English method (for an increase).
"As part of the auction, a residential building with a basement located in Astana, Nura district, MKR, is put up for sale. Karaotkel, Yerementau str., st-n 1. The facility is being sold on transparent and competitive terms that ensure equal access for all bidders," the message says.
Karim Massimov was removed from the post of head of the National Security Committee on January 6, 2024, after riots in the country. On January 8, he was detained.
In April 2023, a court in Astana sentenced Karim Massimov to 18 years in prison for high treason, attempted violent seizure of power, abuse of power and official authority.
