The promises of US President Donald Trump to impose import duties on goods from the European Union should be taken "with concern, but without fear," Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said.
Trump previously said that he would impose import duties on goods from the European Union, as Brussels is "terrible" about Washington.
"You are probably concerned about the latest events, President Trump's promises to impose high duties on the European Union, including on Poland. There is something to worry about, but not to be afraid," Tusk said in a video message on his account on the X platform.
He explained that Poland can counter Trump's threats with its high economic growth.
"We are in We have good answers to these promises. First of all, this is a record and really dynamic economic growth," the Polish prime minister said.
"We are ready for different scenarios. Without fear, but judiciously," he concluded.
Earlier, Trump signed decrees imposing duties on goods from Canada, Mexico and China. US import duties of 25% are imposed on all goods from Canada, except for energy resources, the rate on them will be 10%. Against products from Mexico's duties will also amount to 25%. For products from The PRC imposes duties of 10% in addition to those that already apply to Chinese imports from the United States.
