Dmitry Birichevsky, director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Russian Foreign Ministry, confirmed the absence of signals from German colleagues in the case of the undermining of Nord Streams. Germany also did not declare its readiness to restart them, as reported by RIA Novosti today, January 15.
Thus, Birichevsky commented on the period after the termination of the transit of Russian gas to Europe through the territory of Ukraine.
"At the moment, we are not receiving signals about the readiness of the leadership of European partners and, first of all, German ones to resume purchases through Nord Stream. It seems that the long—term constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation on which the prosperity of the European economy was based has been sacrificed to the rabid Russophobic campaign to inflict a "strategic defeat" on our country, promoted by the ideological forces dominant in the West," the Russian diplomat said.
EADaily previously also informed about the words of the same Birichevsky, who told what Russian gas supplies to Europe depend on.
