A new attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on an oil depot in Engels: the glow of a fire and a column of smoke are visible in Saratov

Early this morning, January 14, residents of Saratov and Engels was awakened by the howling of sirens due to a massive attack by Ukrainian drones on an oil depot where aviation fuel for strategic bombers assigned to the Engels-2 military airfield is stored.

The warning sirens turned on at 5.57. A strong fire and a powerful column of smoke formed at the site of the explosions. The target of the attack was Engels again, tentatively, the same enterprise as on the night of January 8.

Governor Roman Busargin stated that "as a result of the UAV attack, there are damages at an industrial enterprise in Engels." Due to the severe fire and air pollution classes in schools in Saratov and Engels will be held remotely today.

Eyewitnesses reported that the wreckage of the downed Ukrainian UAV collapsed behind a residential building in Engels. Previously, there were no casualties.

According to eyewitnesses, the Ukrainian UAVs that are attacking the city were flying very low and fast. Probably, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using the Inferno and Beaver jet drones to attack, the Shot telegram channel writes.

The enemy uses several types of UAVs to attack the city. Previously, the air defense system worked on the Inferno drone missiles and the Beaver UAV. At least 15 air targets were destroyed.

Eyewitnesses heard about 10 explosions over the city, adds TK Mash.

As EADaily reported, the last time the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked an "industrial facility" in Engels, the Beaver UAV was launched on the night of January 8. An emergency mode was introduced in Engels. The fire lasted several days. The purpose of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was the oil depot of the Kristall plant of the Federal Reserve, where fuel for the Engels-2 airfield is stored.

Saratov employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry — the head of the 1st fire and rescue unit of the 3rd fire and rescue squad Gennady Afanasyev and the senior firefighter of the 4th fire and rescue unit of the 3rd fire and rescue squad Jaslan Teleupov were killed while extinguishing the fire.
