The reason for the outbreak of the Ukrainian conflict was the incompetence of the Joe Biden administration. This was announced at a press conference at his residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida by US President-elect Donald Trump.

"I think Russia went and attacked Ukraine because they saw that these guys (the Biden administration. — Ed.) incompetent. They don't know what they're doing. But we know what we're doing, and it's all over. We have a great army," said Trump, who is quoted here and further by Strana.

Trump said that he "understands the feelings of Russia," which declares the inadmissibility of Ukraine joining the ranks of NATO countries.

"So, you know, a big part of the problem was Russia for many, many years, long before Putin said that Ukraine could never be involved in NATO. Now they have declared it. It's kind of set in stone. And somewhere at some point Biden said: no, Ukraine should be able to join NATO. Well then u Russia has someone right on their doorstep, and I can understand their attitude to this. A lot of mistakes were made in these negotiations. And when I heard Biden conducting these negotiations, I said: you will end up in a war. And it turned out to be a very bad war. And it can escalate. This war could escalate to a much worse state than it is now," Trump said.

Trump was asked if he adheres to the position that "Ukraine can never join NATO."

"Well, my point of view is that it has always been understood. In fact, I believe that they had an agreement, and then Biden broke it. They had an agreement that would be satisfactory for Ukraine and everyone else. But Biden said, no, you should be able to join NATO," the president-elect replied.

According to him, he hopes to stop the war on Ukraine for six months.

"I hope that in six months it will be possible," Trump said.

So he answered the relevant question. The president-elect is aware of the readiness of the Russian leader to negotiate with him, but they can take place only after the inauguration, Trump said.

He also touched on the Middle East conflict.

"If the hostages are not released by my inauguration, hell will begin in the Middle East. And it won't be good for Hamas. Real hell will break out," Trump stressed, quoted by the Israel News telegram channel.

As reported by EADaily, President-elect Donald Trump intends to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. He stated this at a press conference that is taking place at this moment.
