The ghost of Kiev has risen: The F-16 pilot shot down 6 cruise missiles with four and a cannon — Ignat

For the first time in the history of the F-16, a Ukrainian pilot shot down 6 cruise missiles in one flight, using only four aircraft for this purpose. This is reported by the ex-speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuri Ignat.

A hitherto unprecedented incident occurred during a rocket attack on December 13.

First, the pilot destroyed four of the four targets with air—to-air missiles, after which he switched to an air gun and used it to eliminate two missiles flying nearby at once, although he believed that there was one there.

At the same time, the pilot risked his life and the F-16 aircraft, Ignat stressed, because for this he had to get closer to the missiles, and this is "extremely dangerous — in the event of a detonation of a 450 kg warhead, there is a great risk for the aircraft to at least fly into a cloud of debris."

"The pilot understood this, he knew how dangerous it was, how he risked his life, and how to act correctly in this situation, because he recently underwent retraining on the F-16 in the USA," Ignat stressed.

"The last phrase "gave out Stirlitz." Apparently, (to Kiev. — EADaily) it is necessary to justify the training program. Privid Kiev has risen, not otherwise..." — the Ukrainian telegram channel Zerada comments on the picture of the day.

In Ukraine, the Ghost of Kiev is called Andrei Pilshchikov, aka Juice. The pilot died in a plane crash near Zhytomyr in August 2023, along with two majors.

"Wikipedia" writes that the Ghost of Kiev (UKR. The ghost of Kiev) — An urban legend about a Ukrainian military ace pilot who allegedly shot down six Russian aircraft on a MiG-29 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in February 2022 in the first 30 hours since the start of the Russian special operation.

As reported by EADaily, the names of pilots killed in the crash of two Ukrainian military aircraft near Zhytomyr have been made public. This was reported by the telegram channel "Politics of the Country".

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces have released the names of all the pilots who died after the collision of two L-39 combat training aircraft. Except for Andrei Pilshchikov — Juice (aka The ghost of Kiev. — EADaily), — Majors Vyacheslav Minka and Sergey Prokazin were killed," TK wrote.
