More than 15 searches were conducted at the Main Armored Vehicle Directorate (GABTU) of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and at the places of residence of officials of the directorate in the criminal case of abuse of official authority in the execution of the state defense order, TASS reports.
"In the course of investigative actions in the framework of a criminal case on abuse of official powers contrary to the interests of the service in the execution of the state defense order against GABTU officials, more than 15 searches took place both in the department itself and at the addresses of the actual residence of the department officials. Also, during the searches, in addition to the seized documents of importance to the investigation, a mobile phone was seized from General Shaleny, who is in the status of a witness in the case," the law enforcement agencies informed.
The sanction of Article 201.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of authority in the execution of a state defense order) provides for a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
