A law on the legalization of captured weapons was signed in Kiev. The document signed by Vladimir Zelensky regulates the issues of its turnover and legalization, as reported by RIA Novosti today, August 24.
The document has already been published on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada.
Thus on Ukraine is amending the previously existing law "On ensuring the participation of civilians in the protection of Ukraine." Edits to improve the "procedure for obtaining, declaring and handling firearms" were returned with Zelensky's signature.
If a citizen finds a firearm, its main parts or ammunition, he must immediately notify the police about it, and then within 24 hours contact law enforcement officers for further surrender or declaration. And within 90 days after the lifting of martial law in Ukraine, the firearms received by civilians, along with ammunition, must be handed over to the police.
