The cause of the crash of the Russian cargo ship "Ursa Major" in The Mediterranean Sea was a terrorist attack. This was stated to RIA Novosti by a representative of the Oboronlogistics group of companies.
"Oboronlogistics believes that on December 23, 2024, a targeted terrorist attack was carried out on the Ursa Major vessel owned by the company. According to the testimony of the ship's crew members, on December 23, 2024, at 13:50 (Moscow time), three consecutive explosions occurred from the starboard side in the aft area,"the press service said.
As reported by EADaily, the Russian cargo ship Ursa Major ("Big Dipper") sank in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea between Spain and Algeria. 14 crew members were rescued, they were taken to Cartagena, Spain, two more were missing.
The website of the shipowner company indicates that the flagship of the Oboronlogistics fleet, Ursa Major (Big Dipper), set off on another voyage to the Far East with a large project cargo: port cranes weighing 380 tons each, necessary for the expansion of the terminal in Vladivostok, and 45-ton hatch covers for new icebreakers.
