An American military man who served at the US Air Force base in Okinawa has been sentenced by a Japanese court to five years in prison for kidnapping and raping a schoolgirl. This is reported by TASS.
As it was established as a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old US Army soldier tricked a 15-year-old schoolgirl into his apartment, which is regarded as kidnapping, and raped her.
He did not admit his guilt, assuring that the girl, whom he allegedly considered to be of legal age, voluntarily came to his house.
In May, Okinawa police arrested another American soldier for a similar crime. In this regard, the Japanese authorities made a presentation to the US Ambassador to Japan, Ram Emanuel, demanding that measures be taken to strengthen discipline among the US military contingent on the island.
