The Kremlin cannot say anything about the number of Russian military personnel in Syria, this is a matter for the Ministry of Defense, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"Only our military can tell you this, I can't give you the exact number," he told reporters.
Answering the question about the results of contacts Meeting with the new Syrian authorities, the Kremlin spokesman noted that "too little time has passed yet."
"Therefore, I cannot say anything in more detail, but, of course, we cannot but contact those who are controlling the situation there now on earth, because there are our facilities, our people, first of all," the Kremlin spokesman stressed.
"We, of course, would like to see the situation in the country [Syria] stabilize as soon as possible in one way or another, in order to subsequently reach some prospects for bringing the situation to a legal course," Peskov concluded, quoted by TASS.
